A safe, anonymous, and respectful space for honest relationship conversations.
Effective September 5, 2026 • Version 1.0 • Applies to posts, comments, profiles, messages, shared AI chats, uploads and all interactive features.
Privacy is a community responsibility
Never share a phone number, full legal name, email address, physical address, precise location, workplace, social-media handle, government identifier, private image, or any other detail that could identify, contact, track, expose, or locate you or another person.
1. Purpose and Scope
BoringSpouse.com is an adults-only peer-support community for honest conversations about marriage, dating, separation, family life, and relationships. These Guidelines explain what members may share, what is prohibited, how content may be moderated, and how safety concerns are handled. They apply to every person who accesses or uses the platform.
By using BoringSpouse.com, you agree to follow these Guidelines as well as the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
These Guidelines may be updated as the community, technology, and legal requirements evolve.
They apply to posts, comments, profiles, messages, AI chats shared with the community, uploads, and all interactive features.
2. Our Core Community Principles
Protect anonymity. Do not expose yourself or anyone else.
Speak from personal experience. Describe what happened without presenting assumptions as verified facts.
Challenge ideas without attacking people.
Offer perspective, not judgment, humiliation, or commands.
Respect consent, boundaries, safety, cultural differences, and personal dignity.
Remember that AI and community responses are guidance — not professional medical, legal, mental-health, financial, or emergency services.
3. Eligibility and Account Responsibility
Users must be at least 18 years old.
Do not create accounts for another person, impersonate anyone, evade a suspension, or misrepresent your identity to deceive or harm others.
Protect access to your account and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
Automated scraping, bot accounts, bulk posting, coordinated manipulation, and unauthorized commercial use are prohibited.
4. Anonymity and Personal Information
Zero-tolerance identifying-information rule
Do not publish or request personal information about yourself or anyone else. This prohibition applies even when the information is publicly available, appears elsewhere online, belongs to you, or is shared with permission. Once posted, information may be copied or misused; therefore, BoringSpouse may remove it without notice.
Full legal names, surnames combined with identifying context, aliases tied to a real identity, or the identity of a spouse, partner, child, relative, coworker, neighbor, or third party.
Telephone, WhatsApp, voicemail, fax numbers, or messaging-app contact details.
Email addresses, usernames used elsewhere, social-media handles, profile links, personal websites, or QR codes that lead to an identifiable person.
Home, work, school, shelter, hospital, worship center, or mailing addresses; apartment numbers; landmarks; precise neighborhoods; GPS coordinates; live location; or regular travel routes.
Employer, job location, school, club, organization, congregation, immigration facility, court location, or other affiliation when it could identify or locate someone.
Birth dates, ages combined with identifying details, government ID numbers, passport or visa details, Social Security or tax numbers, driver's-license data, license plates, case numbers, account numbers, or authentication codes.
Financial information, bank or card details, payment handles, income records, medical record numbers, insurance information, legal-file details, or confidential employment records.
Photographs, screenshots, audio, video, documents, tattoos, faces, name badges, signatures, metadata, or backgrounds that reveal identity or location.
Private communications copied from texts, emails, direct messages, counseling sessions, legal consultations, medical records, or workplace systems when they identify another person.
Any combination of otherwise ordinary details that could reasonably allow someone to identify, contact, track, harass, embarrass, threaten, or locate a person.
5. How to Anonymize a Story
Use relationship labels such as “my spouse,” “my partner,” or “a relative” instead of names or initials.
Use broad timeframes such as “recently” instead of exact dates and times.
Use broad locations such as “my city” or “my region” instead of neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, or landmarks.
Remove names, faces, contact details, metadata, signatures, account numbers, and background clues from any permitted upload.
Change nonessential details that do not alter the meaning of the story, and say that minor details were changed for privacy.
6. Respectful Participation
Members may disagree and discuss painful experiences, but participation must remain humane and constructive.
No harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, dogpiling, humiliation, coercion, or repeated unwanted contact.
No insults or degrading statements directed at a person or protected group.
No content promoting discrimination or hatred based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, immigration status, caste, or other protected characteristic.
No encouragement of revenge, public shaming, exposure, retaliation, entrapment, or confrontation that may increase risk.
Do not pressure another user to reveal identity, move off-platform, meet in person, exchange contact information, or provide money.
7. Threats, Violence, Abuse, and Exploitation
Immediate danger
BoringSpouse.com is not an emergency service. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource. Platform responses may not be immediate.
Threats, instructions, praise, or credible intent to harm a person, animal, property, or community are prohibited.
Do not coordinate violence, abuse, stalking, coercive control, kidnapping, trafficking, blackmail, extortion, or unlawful surveillance.
Content that sexualizes, exploits, grooms, endangers, or identifies a minor is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities.
Do not share intimate images or sexual content involving another person without clear consent. Nonconsensual intimate imagery, hidden-camera content, and sexual extortion are prohibited.
Do not provide operational instructions that facilitate abuse, evasion of law enforcement, unauthorized access, or physical harm.
8. Self-Harm and Crisis-Related Content
Members may seek support for distress, loneliness, or difficult emotions. Content that encourages, celebrates, instructs, or coordinates suicide, self-harm, eating-disorder behavior, or dangerous substance use is prohibited.
Supportive discussion and recovery-focused sharing are allowed when they do not include graphic details or instructions.
Do not challenge, dare, shame, or pressure a person in crisis.
BoringSpouse may display support resources, limit distribution, remove content, or escalate a credible safety concern consistent with law and platform policy.
9. Sexual Content and Adult Safety
Relationship and sexual-health discussions between adults may be permitted when relevant, non-graphic, and respectful.
Pornographic, graphic, exploitative, fetish-targeting, solicitation, prostitution, or sexually harassing content is prohibited.
Never share sexual images, recordings, or identifying sexual allegations about another person.
Any content involving minors in a sexual context is prohibited, regardless of claimed intent.
10. Truthfulness, Allegations, and Misinformation
Describe personal experiences honestly and distinguish facts from interpretations, suspicions, rumors, and opinions.
Do not fabricate stories to target, defame, manipulate, extort, or damage another person or organization.
Do not identify or invite others to identify a person accused of infidelity, abuse, crime, misconduct, disease, or other sensitive behavior.
Do not present AI-generated text, altered media, or impersonated communications as authentic evidence.
Dangerous misinformation involving health, law, finance, public safety, or emergency response may be removed or limited.
11. Spam, Solicitation, and Commercial Activity
No spam, repetitive posting, engagement manipulation, chain messages, fake testimonials, referral schemes, or deceptive links.
No unsolicited advertising, fundraising, recruitment, investment promotion, dating solicitation, or requests for money, gifts, passwords, documents, or payment information.
Professionals may not use the community to acquire clients unless BoringSpouse has expressly authorized the activity in writing.
Malware, phishing, credential theft, fraudulent offers, and attempts to redirect users to unsafe services are prohibited.
12. Intellectual Property and Confidential Material
Post only content you created or have the lawful right to share.
Do not upload copyrighted books, articles, paid resources, photographs, recordings, or other protected works without authorization.
Do not disclose trade secrets, sealed legal material, confidential workplace data, counseling notes, protected health information, or restricted records.
BoringSpouse may remove content following a valid intellectual-property complaint or other legal request.
13. AI Counselor and Automated Features
AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a specific situation. Use judgment and verify important information.
The AI Counselor is not a licensed therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial adviser, emergency responder, or substitute for qualified professional care.
Do not submit personal information, confidential records, passwords, authentication codes, or identifying details to AI features.
Do not use AI features to generate harassment, threats, exposure campaigns, false allegations, manipulation, unlawful activity, or harmful instructions.
When choosing “Post to Community,” review and remove identifying information before publishing. A private AI chat does not become a community post unless you affirmatively select the sharing action.
14. Reporting Content and Safety Concerns
Use the in-platform Report option when content may violate these Guidelines. Choose the most accurate reason and provide only the minimum information necessary. Do not repost prohibited material in order to report it.
Report imminent threats or suspected exploitation through appropriate emergency or legal channels in addition to platform reporting.
Do not submit false, retaliatory, coordinated, or abusive reports.
Reports are reviewed based on available context. BoringSpouse generally does not disclose reporter identity to the reported user, except where legally required.
15. Moderation and Enforcement
BoringSpouse may use automated tools and trained reviewers to identify, prioritize, and assess potential violations. Automated detection is a screening signal and does not necessarily establish wrongdoing.
Display a warning, privacy reminder, or support-resource notice.
Restrict visibility, comments, messaging, posting, sharing, or account features.
Remove, redact, de-identify, or preserve content.
Temporarily suspend or permanently terminate an account.
Prevent re-registration or related-account access when appropriate.
Preserve or disclose information when required by valid legal process, or to address serious safety, fraud, or security risks.
Refer suspected illegal activity to appropriate authorities when legally required or permitted.
BoringSpouse may act without prior notice when immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect people, privacy, platform integrity, or legal compliance.
16. Appeals
When an appeal option is available, a user may request review of an enforcement decision within the period stated in the notice. An appeal should identify the decision, explain why it may be incorrect, and provide relevant context without repeating prohibited personal information.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically restore content or account access.
Repeated, abusive, fraudulent, or duplicative appeals may be closed without further review.
Some actions required by law, safety obligations, or valid legal process may not be eligible for appeal.
17. Moderator Standards
Apply rules consistently and consider context, severity, credible risk, and protected expression.
Access only the information necessary to perform assigned moderation duties.
Do not reveal reporter identity, internal case information, or user data outside authorized workflows.
Escalate credible imminent-risk, child-safety, exploitation, legal, or security matters through approved procedures.
Document material decisions and avoid conflicts of interest, retaliation, favoritism, or personal engagement with reported users.
18. Platform Safety and Security
Do not probe, disrupt, bypass, reverse engineer, overload, or gain unauthorized access to BoringSpouse systems or accounts.
Do not collect, scrape, sell, profile, or re-identify users or community content.
Do not misuse reporting, moderation, AI, translation, upload, or notification tools.
Report suspected vulnerabilities through the designated security channel and do not publicly disclose exploitable details before remediation.
19. Legal and Service Limitations
These Guidelines protect the community and explain platform expectations. They do not create a duty to monitor every communication, guarantee removal of all prohibited content, guarantee user anonymity against lawful process, or create professional-client, fiduciary, therapeutic, legal, or emergency-service relationships.
If these Guidelines conflict with applicable law or the Terms of Service, the controlling law and Terms of Service will govern to the extent of the conflict.
20. Contact and Policy Questions
Use BoringSpouse.com's official Help, Report, Privacy, or Contact channels for policy questions, safety reports, privacy requests, and appeals. Never include unnecessary personal information in a report.
